This project aims to re-write histories of settler colonialism through the voices of Indigenous and refugee people. In March 2024 we organised a two-day Workshop on the theme of ‘Indigenous and Refugee Histories of Dispossession and Displacement’ at the University of Sydney, hosted by the Vere Gordon Childe Centre for Humanity through Time. The Workshop coincided with the visit of Dartmouth College’s Samson Occam Professor Bruce Duthu, an enrolled tribal member of the United Houma Nation of Louisiana.
